$1k deposit placed and the ball is definitely rolling.

Paid up the deposit of $1k to get the initial site inspection etc and get our tender underway. After a week of deposit, they arranged the demo guy Adam to come out on Monday, Joe the would-be SS showed up on Tuesday to do his site inspection and tomorrow the surveyor will be out in the morning. All this happening now as we did tell them that we'll be away for a holiday the next 4.5 weeks.

Was told most likely we'll need a retaining wall at the back which we haven't catered for budget wise. Hopefully they can give us a good tender to be able to afford the wall. **praying hard**

Home Designs - too many to choose from...is that bad?

This is my first post.

A little introduction, both hubby and myself bought a house that has 674m2 of land within Fairfield City Council. We have 4 adults and 2 kids living in a small 3 bedroom with study home and indeed need an upgrade asap as the kids are growing older and have more homework to do and need the space.

We have our eyes currently on the Firstyle Braeside 38, Wisdom Manhattan 38/39, and maybe the Monte Carlo from Fowler.

Our criteria is:

1. a bedroom downstairs with a bathroom just outside or ensuite,
2. 4 bedrooms, master and room 2 have their own ensuite, room 3 and 4 share bathroom.
3. all rooms have to be a good sized room ~ 10m2

The budget: We don't want it to cost us an arm and a leg but yet we also want certain things that won't break/wear out after 5 years iykwim. Basically value for money. I realise it may mean we have to forgo certain things to attain better quality for other things.
